Trauma is your body doing its best to cope with abnormal, stressful, or long-lasting negative events.

Often when we think of trauma, we may think of only war or natural disasters. Even though these events are traumatic, the list is more extensive. Since the definition of trauma is nuanced and each person’s experience is unique, we will not attempt to make a list of what constitutes trauma.

Symptoms may include hyper-vigilance, nightmares, guilt, self-blame, becoming easily startled, isolation, decreased interests in activities, difficulty sleeping, flashbacks, forgetfulness, and panic.

Although the trauma symptoms can be overwhelming, there is hope for healing.

We are committed to building authentic relationships that provide safety and trust, alongside research-based interventions, so that together we can reach your goals.
